Dr Howard Smith, Head of the Department of Reproductive Medicine Westmead Hospital and Director of the Westmead Fertility Centre. He is a Senior Staff Specialist in Endocrinology Westmead Hospital, Sydney and the secretary of the Human Research Ethics Committee of the Western Sydney Area Health Service for many years. His main clinical interests are in reproductive endocrinology and particularly in the investigation and treatment of both male and female infertility. He has extensive experience in clinical and laboratory aspects of reproductive endocrinology and has completed several clinical trials of treatments used in assisted reproduction and fertility preservation and of methods of sperm retrieval and selection for ART.
