Shannon McCarthy graduated with Honours from the University of Tasmania in 2006, and was the recipient of the RACP Prize. She completed her physician training at Barwon Health, Western Health and Ballarat Base Hospital. She has been published in Medicine Today and the Medical Journal of Australia and presented research to the National Osteoporosis Society in Manchester. She is a lecturer at Deakin University and is currently Chief Resident at Barwon Health.
