Robert Norman holds a personal chair as Professor for Reproductive and Periconceptual Medicine at the University of Adelaide, and is a subspecialist in reproductive medicine (CREI) and in endocrine biochemistry (FRCPA). He was Director of the Robinson Institute at the University of Adelaide from 2008 to 2013, a collection of 60 Research Leaders in reproductive health and regenerative medicine, with more than 450 members. His major research contributions have been in IVF and reproductive endocrinology, particularly in PCOS, the effect of lifestyle on reproductive outcomes and periconception medicine. He is an active reproductive medicine specialist at FertilitySA and was formerly CEO of Repromed Pty Ltd. Professor Norman has built a significant research grouping in women’s reproductive health in Australia through The Robinson Institute, a grouping with the only 5 ranking in ERA in Australia in paediatrics and reproductive health. He has ability to translate basic and applied science into clinical and policy results, recognising the key drivers of change in his discipline and the wider community. Professor Robert Norman has published over 420 refereed articles, reviews and book chapters since 1980, 101 of these since 2005. He has been awarded several honours, including in 2013 the Order of Australia for services to reproductive health as a researcher and clinician and the ASRM Distinguished Research Leadership award.
