- This delegate is presenting an abstract at this event.

Professor Larry Chamley is the head of the Biology and Immunology of Reproduction research group in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, The University of Auckland. He has several research interests in reproductive biology but has major focus on the immune interactions that occur during reproduction. While examining the antigenic specificity of antisperm antibodies from infertile men his team discovered a sperm protein that they called SPRASA. Subsequently they have shown that expression of SPRASA is limited almost exclusively to the testes and ovaries of mammals and have been investigating the potential of SPRASA as a target for a contraceptive vaccine. Larry is a Fellow of the Society for Reproductive Biology, a member of the Executive of the International Federation of Placenta Associations and a member of the editorial boards of the journals, Trophoblast Research/Placenta, the American Journal of Reproductive Immunology and the Journal of Reproductive Immunology.
